WE DID IT!
Thank you for all of the support and well wishes! Drs. Neal and Nicole completed the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon on June 3, along with approximately 80 team members from Santa Barbara’s Team in Training.
Dr. Nicole recounts, “The sheer number of marathon participants (20,000) and Team in Training members (4,000) was overwhelming. My favorite memory of the race is when I ran past a young man that had the following on the back of his shirt, “I am a cancer survivor and today is my birthday, thank you LLS for giving me another chance.”
“We could not have done it without the support and encouragement of our families, friends and patients”, Dr. Neal states. This was Dr. Neal’s fifth completed marathon, and he has already begun planning for next year’s race. In the mean time, Dr. Neal has decided to volunteer his expertise and experience as the assistant running coach, for Team In Training’s Santa Barbara Chapter.
We would also like to acknowledge our talented friend Jaimi Kercher, who was kind enough to have the debut of her photographic Sierra collection, as a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We were successful in raising money for a great cause and selling some art along the way. If you are interested in viewing this collection, please feel free to stop by the office.
