Dr. Nicole Olsen
Dr. Nicole Olsen completed her undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and a minor in Exercise and Health Science. While attending UCSB, Dr. Olsen served as a volunteer student athletic trainer for the women's basketball, swimming, track and water polo teams. As Dr. Olsen learned more about how athletes' bodies function under the high demands of Division I sports, she reflected on her own experience as an athlete in pain. While attending Notre Dame High School, Dr. Olsen competed as a varsity lightweight and varsity rower. Pain in her hips and low back prompted her to see her family Chiropractor, whom instructed Dr. Olsen on proper ways to manage her body and how Chiropractic adjustments help the body heal. At the completion of her senior year at UCSB, Dr. Olsen enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, to expand her knowledge of the human body and its reaction to stress.
Upon completion of her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in December 2004, Dr. Olsen followed her heart back to Santa Barbara, with her partner, Dr. Barry to open Barry Family Chiropractic.
